Vernon Mathew "Bunk" Wade, of Pauls Valley, was born
October 15, 1919 near Pauls Valley, Oklahoma near the Cherokee Crossing to George Dallas Wade and
Sally Dovie Ashton Wade.
He passed away July 4, 2008 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 88
years.
Vernon Mathew Wade was married to Martha Irene Turner in Pauls Valley,
Oklahoma on February 1, 1941.
Garvin County has been his home all of his life with the past 63 years
in the same home in Pauls Valley. He was a Trucker and Hay Broker and
was a member of United Pentecostal Church.
'Bunk' was preceded in death by his parents, George Dallas and Sally
Dovie Wade; his wife of 63 years, Martha Irene "Granny" Wade; 4
brothers, Jess Wade, C. P. 'Perk' Wade, Gene Wade and George Wade; and
by 3 sisters, Cordie Gardner, Verda Brown and Hazel McCoy.
Surviving family include his children, Leon Dallas Wade and his wife,
Nancy, of Pauls Valley; Bernie Dale Wade of Ada; and Nathan Stephen Wade
and his wife, Debbie, of Mt. Carmel, Tennessee; five grandchildren, nine
great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews; as well as a
special friend, Larry Taylor.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 2:00 pm at
Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Daniel Johnson and
Grandson, Lucas Stephen Wade. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery
under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
