Jennie Swinney

Long time Pauls Valley resident, Jennie Swinney, passed away on May 6, 2005. She lived 100 years of devotion and love for her family and her community. Jennie was born on April 24, 1905 in Indian Territory near McAlester, Oklahoma and bean her teaching career in Haileyville, Oklahoma. She continued teaching in the Pauls Valley School system in the early 50's. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and many other clubs and organizations.

Mrs. Swinney was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James Sidney Swinney and is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Sidney Jen Polley of Dallas, Texas and Mr. & Mrs. Jim Baird of Pauls Valley. She has five grandchildren, James Cecil Baird of Arlington, Texas, John Alan Polley of Ontario, Canada, Bruce Edwin Polley of Wichita, Kansas, Joe Sidney Baird of Garland, Texas and Rebecca Anne Polley of Gaiberg, Germany. She has eleven great-grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Baird, Ruston Anne Polley, Meagan Leigh Baird, Bennett Landers Polley, Derek James Baird, Sarah Virginia Polley, Craig Charles Baird, Grant Keller Polley, Marshall James Baird, Selby Michelle Polley and Blake Lewis Polley.

Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at 1:00 pm at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home in Pauls Valley.
