Calvin E. Stringer

Calvin Earl Stringer, of Stratford, was born May 12, 1928 in Purdy, Oklahoma to Jesse James and Lillie Mae (Baker) Stringer. He was raised in the Pauls Valley area and attended Whitebead School.

He passed away January 14, 2007 in Stratford, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years.

Calvin Earl Stringer was married to Joan Marie Ott in Gainesville, Texas on January 13, 1950. He was a Truck Driver for many years. Stratford has been his home for the past 46 years.

Mr. Stringer was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Clifford, 'Rip' Stringer.

Surviving family include his wife, Joan of the home; 3 sons, Clifford Stringer of Wayne, Michael Stringer and Dewain Stringer of Stratford; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Mary Brooks of Norman, Hazel Parrish of Pauls Valley, Ima Jean Singleton of Sulphur and Juanita Moore of Pauls Valley; and his mother-in-law, Gladys Cole of Stratford.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 10:00 am at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Bro. Scott Miller. Interment will be at Rosedale Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
