Murry Southard

Murry Southard went to be with the Lord January 29, 2007.

Murry was born June 12, 1917 in Wheatland, Missouri. He was the son of William Ross Southard and Elsie Chancellor Southard.

He married Christena Morris August 6, 1938. Murry received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri. Murry taught school for many years in Missouri and California and then served as a school administrator prior to his retiring in 1986.

Murry is survived by his his wife, Christena, his loving wife of 68 years; two daughters and son-in-laws, Carol & E.A. Lawrence of Waxahachie, Tx., and Norma & David Hoffmaster of Longbeach, Ca; one son & daughter-in-law, Allen & Teresa Southard of Shawnee, Ok; a brother and sister-in-law, Calvin & May Southard of Warrensburg, Mo; 9 grandchildren, Richard Lawrence of Wylie, Tx., April Ellerbee of Sanford, Fl., Tiffany Barrett of Shawnee, Ok., Christena Mancino of Anaheim, Ca., Tammy Fowler, of Irving, Tx., James Southard, Kelly Southard, and Jennifer Ingram, all of Ft. Smith, Ar., and Keith Hoffmaster of Grapevine, Tx; 12 great-grandchildren, Sarah, Joshua and Isaac Mancino, all of Anaheim, Ca., Bethany Lawrence, Marissa Ellerbee and Lukah Lawrence, all of Sanford, Fl., Layla & Derek Southard of Van Buren, Ar., Jackson & Kate Barrett of Shawnee, Ok., Jonathan Fowler of Irving, Tx. and Jenna Southard of Ft. Smith, Ar.; and a host of family & friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance with Bro. Sam Hendry officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
