In Loving Memory Of
Christena Morris Southard

Christena Mae (Morris) Southard, of Long Beach,
California, was born October 18, 1919, to George and Dollie (Lawson)
Morris in the Yeager Community North of Stratford, Okla. She was the
fourth child in a family of 8.
She passed away with her family close by on Saturday, February 6, 2010,
in Long Beach, California at the age of 90 years.
She met the love of her life Murry Southard in 1937, and they were
married in Pauls Valley in 1938. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage
before his death in 2007. She was a loving homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Murry, 2 brothers, Eli
Morris and Kenneth Morris, 2 sisters, Irene Lambert and Lorene Mullins
and grandson James Southard.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Carol Lawrence and husband Al of
Waxahachie, Texas and Norma Hoffmaster and husband David of Long Beach,
California, and one son Allen Southard and wife Teresa of Shawnee,
Oklahoma, 2 sisters, Katherine Hannah and husband Don of Pauls Valley
and Pauline Holland and husband Oral of Boerne,Texas, 2 brothers, Gus
Morris and wife Mellnee of Pauls Valley and G. D. Morris and wife Sandra
of Houston, Texas.
She is survived by grandchildren Richard Lawrence of Wylie, Texas, April
Lawrence and husband Eddie Ellerbee of Sanford, Florida, Keith
Hoffmaster of Grapevine, Texas, Christena Mancino and husband Scott of
Anaheim, California, Tiffany Barrett and husband Jack of Shawnee,
Oklahoma,Tammy Fowler and husband Art Fowler of Irving, Texas, and Kelly
Southard and Jennifer Southard of Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She is
additionally survived by great-grandchildren Bethany and Lukah Lawrence,
Marissa and Kayla Ellerbee of Sanford, Florida, Sarah, Joshua, Isaac,
Caleb and Rachel Mancino of Anaheim, California, Jackson and Katherine
Barrett of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Jonathan, Olivia and Rachel Fowler of
Irving, Texas, Layla and Derek Southard of Van Buren, Arkansas, and
Jenna Southard of Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
Christena and Murry’s witness and prayers lead their children and
families to also become Christians.
Christena was a gentle loving person and will truly be missed by all
that loved her.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 10:30 am at
Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance with Bro. Tim Bowen Officiating. A
private interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Interment and
professional services are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey
Funeral Home.
