In Loving Memory Of
Eric Smith

Eric Smith was born on March 8, 1957 in Wynnewood,
Oklahoma to Ora Mae Smith and Melvin Ray Carter. Eric accepted Christ at
an early age and was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Eric attended elementary and secondary schools in Wynnewood, Oklahoma.
He graduated from Wynnewood High. After graduating from high school , he
worked a Pauls Valley State School in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Later he
pursued his true love of lawn care and he continued to do so until his
passing.
Eric was a comedian at heart and will be remembered for his smiles,
great sense of humor, outdoor cooking on his specially made grill, and
carrying around his brown paper bags. He always enjoyed chewing Apple
Jack Tobacco. Eric was an artist at heart and he had a style of his own.
Eric was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Oren and Katherine
Smith; paternal grandparents, Melvin Carter, Sr. and Mildred Carter;
father, Melvin Ray Carter; aunt, Alice Smith and nephew, Joshua Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Ora Mae Smith of Wynnewood;
three sisters, Devery Johnette McMillan of Davis, Sandra Marlene Smith
of Wynnewood and Patricia Turner of Wynnewood; two brothers, Darris
Wright of Wynnewood and Samuel Carter of El Paso, Texas.
He also leave his grandmother, Mildred Smith of Wynnewood; uncles,
Arthur Smith, Cecil Smith, Oren Smith and Sammy Smith of Wynnewood. He
leaves aunts, Ruth Houston of Ft. Worth, Texas, Caline Rushing of Gene
Autry, Mary Smith of Oklahoma City, Rosalind Ramsey of Virginia and Jan
Washington of Wynnewood; great aunt Johnnie Pearl Love of Wynnewood and
great uncle Edward Johnson of Palm Beach, Florida.
He has many nieces, nephews, family members and friends who will
treasure and embrace his legacy. Eric will be truly missed by all who
knew him.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 11:00 am at the
Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Wynnewood. Interment will be at the
Hopewell Cemetery near Wynnewood under the direction of the
Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home in Pauls Valley.
