Name

An Iris Seymour, of Pauls Valley, was born September 8,
1930 in the Walker Community east of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Tom
Seymour and Mary Ruth Atkins Seymour.
She passed away June 26, 2008 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 77
years.
After graduating school she furthered her education by earning her
Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in Education as well as an Associate
Degree In Horticulture. Iris always called Pauls Valley here home, so
following a career of teaching for 39 years in the Oklahoma City School
System she returned home. Iris activities and memberships include: the
Orchid Society; the Historical Association; the Walker Community
Association and has been Secretary for the Walker Volunteer Fire
Department for the past 6 years. She was also a member of the First
Christian Church in Pauls Valley as well as a Volunteer School Teacher
at the Whitebead School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Mary Ruth Seymour.
Surviving family include her sister, Doris Fitzgerald of Deer Creek,
Oklahoma; a nephew, Dr. Rick Fitzgerald and his wife, Tess, of Liberal,
Kansas; a niece, Sheila Ricke and her husband, Ron, of Sharon, Kansas;
two great-nieces, Samantha Ricke of Manhattan, Kansas; Amanda Ricke of
Pittsburg, Kansas and a 1st cousin, Harold Loman of Pauls Valley. Also
surviving are her loving caregivers: Tony and Tawana Jones, Virginia
Jackson, Resheedia Thrash, Stephanie Cottrell and Coqueta Blankenship.
Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, June 30, 2008 at 2:00 pm
at Mt. Olivet Cemetery officiated by Rev. Robin Spurling and Rev. Larry
Cornforth. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction
of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. |
