In Loving Memory Of

George Edward Rose

George Edward Rose, 87, of Duncan passed away on January 23, 2005.

He was born June 20, 1917 in Melbourne, Arkansas to George Alexander Rose and Mary Alice (Puckett) Rose. At the age of five, Ed was the only surviving child. The family moved to Wayne, Oklahoma in 1929, where he finished school. On October 10, 1942, he married Ferra D. Webster in Maysville, Oklahoma. His wife of 49 years preceded him in death in 1991.

Ed worked in the oil field mostly with Cities Service Oil Company from 1945 until retirement in 1973 at Lindsay, Oklahoma. Ed joined the Masonic Lodge of Lindsay in 1949. After retirement he and his wife lived in various towns in Arkansas and Texas enjoying fishing and traveling. In 1990 he joined the Lutheran Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two older brothers: Euell and Ray and an older sister Elmelda.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, R. Lynn and Vicki Rose of Tulsa and Robert Edward and Linda Rose of Duncan, and grandson Joshua Scott Rose of Tulsa, and a grandson and wife Bryan Scott and Pamela Kay Rose of Clearfield, Utah.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, Oklahoma on Thursday, January 27, 2005 at 10:30 am with Pastor James Miller officiating. Funeral Arrangements and interment at Hillside Cemetery are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home in Pauls Valley.
