In Loving Memory Of

Louis C. Reid

Louis C. Reid, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Pauls Valley, was born January 29, 1914 in Sunset, Texas to Luther Clifton and Allie Pearl Caldwell Reid.

He passed away March 28, 2005 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years.

Louis and Mary Mildred Morrison were married in Wilburton, Oklahoma on June 3, 1934. He worked in Hospital Administration. After his retirement in the mid-1960's he and his wife, Mildred, moved to make Pauls Valley their home.

Louis was very active in the Pauls Valley Masonic Lodge #6 as well as the Scottish Rite in McAlester where he earned the Knight Commander of the Court of Honor (KCCH). He was as active in the India Shrine where he was a regular driver for many years for cripple and burned children. He would transport them to the different Shriner Hospital's serving this area.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pauls Valley and was an active member of the Crusader's Sunday School Class. Among his many activities, Louis was also an avid golfer. In May of 1999 he and his wife, Mildred, moved to Oklahoma City, for health reasons, to be closer to their son and his wife.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Mildred Morrison Reid on July 13, 2001; and one sister, LaRue Reid Foster.

The family requests that memorials Louis C. Reid be sent to the India Temple Children's Hospital Transportation Fund at 3607 N. W. 36th Street in Oklahoma City, OK. 73112-6324 or to the Alzheimer's Research at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF). Memorial funeral services will be held Friday, April 1, 2005 at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church officiated by Dr. Robert J. Kanary. A family graveside will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley. Services are under the direction of the Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home in Pauls Valley.
