Wilda R. Pearson

Wilda Ruth Pearson, of Pauls Valley was born June 12, 1928 in the Hoxbar Community near Ardmore, Oklahoma to W. M. and Orpha Belle (Cox) Montgomery.

She passed away April 20, 2006 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years.

Wilda was raised in the Hoxbar Community and later moved with her family to Pauls Valley where she attended school and is a Pauls Valley High School graduate.

She began working G. F. Wacker's in 1942 where she became a Buyer for the stores. Wilda worked there until her retiring at the closing of the store after 39 years of service.

Wilda Ruth Montgomery and Lloyd Pearson were married in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 6, 1962 and have been blessed with nearly 44 years together. Pauls Valley has been her home most of her life.

She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Pauls Valley and for many years a member of the Pansy Garden Club.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Montgomery.

Surviving family include her husband, Lloyd Pearson of the home; two sisters, LaVerne Grissom of Pauls Valley and Ivajo and her husband, Charles Zurhmely of Shawnee; a brother-in-law, A. B. Pearson and his wife Vel of Pauls Valley; two sisters-in-law, Imogene Pruitt of Pauls Valley and June Pearson of Norman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
