L. B. Norwood

L. B. Norwood, 94, died peacefully on the morning of
October 4, 2004 following complications of a broken hip.
He was residing at Oklahoma Christian Retirement Community in Edmond,
Oklahoma with his wife, of 71 years, Eloise. Other surviving family
include their daughters, Linda Lou Norwood of Okarche and Ramona Arnold
and her husband, Phil, of Edmond; two grandchildren, Larry Arnold of
Lawrence, Kansas and Janice Arnold of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters,
Pauline Richardson, of Wynnewood and Alleyene Cook and her husband, T. M.,
of Ardmore; also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Leavy Norwood, two
brothers, William Norwood and Howard Norwood.
L. B. was born in Wynnewood, Oklahoma on February 13, 1910. He and Eloise
Vaught were married on January 28, 1933 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.
He was a longtime resident of Pauls Valley and Wynnewood, and had several
businesses, including a fresh produce business, grocery store, car
dealership, real estate and insurance agencies, and a poll Hereford ranch.
He was a man who loved his family, family gatherings, horses and cattle
ranching. L. B. was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pauls
Valley.
Edmond had been his home the past two years and nine months.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 7, 2004 at 2:00 pm at
First Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Tom Buzbee. Burial will be at
Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral
Home.
