Emma L. Moore

Emma L. Moore, of Elmore City was born February 16, 1933 in Elmore City, Oklahoma to Marvin L. and Vesta Leola (Gray) McCurley.

She passed away June 24, 2005 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy (Shorty) Bishop and later by her husband, Burl Moore.

Also preceding her in death are her parents; a son, Roy Dewayne (Buddy) Bishop; a grandson, Brandon Gene Pettigrew and a Son-In-Law, Stanley Johnson.

Emma retired after several years with the Southern Oklahoma Resource Center.

Surviving family include her four daughters, Brenda Johnson of Pauls Valley, Janet Johnson of Sobol, Debbie Martin of LaCygne, Kansas and Linda Heard of Elmore City; one son, Troy Bishop; four brothers, Bob McCurley of Norman, Harold McCurley of Moore, Jerrel McCurley of Oklahoma City and Larry McCurley of Wayne; three sisters, Joyce Bolin of Ada, Barbara Barnett of Pauls Valley and Glenna Young of Austin, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 27, 2005 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean Chapel officiated by Rev. Joel Ferren, Rev. Steve Moore and Pastor Claudia Loveless. Burial will be at Katie Cemetery at Katie, Oklahoma under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
