Martha Mae Tyson Montgomery

Martha Mae Tyson Montgomery, of Pauls Valley was born May 6, 1911 in Jay, Oklahoma to Ernest and Emma Carroll Pitts. She passed away December 31, 2006 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 95 years.

Martha grew up in Jay and Cromwell. She was married to William J. Tyson on June 27, 1929 in Cromwell and he passed away in 1965. Martha married Lloyd Montgomery August 7, 1975 in Carlin, Nevada and he passed away on December 5, 1995. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by parents, Ernest & Emma Pitts; her husbands;her grandson, Michael Woods; 2 brothers, Fred & Ernie Pitts; 3 sisters, Gladys Jackson, Lavada Love and Lee Powers.

Surviving family include her 3 children, Betty Moody, of Pauls Valley; Bill Tyson, of Bell Plane, Kansas; and Nancy Britt, Seagoville, Texas; brother, Bob Pitts, of Noble; 2 sisters, Nora Roseberry, of Pennsylvania; and Wilma Claxton, of Norman; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 17 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 5, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Bro. Tim Bowen. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
