~ Words of Care and Concern From Family and Friends ~

It was with deep sadness that I read of the death of Homer Ray.  I had noticed that his mother passed away last fall and, regretfully, did not contact him to offer my condolences.

By way of introduction, I knew Homer during his high school years.  I was a student at Wynnewood when he was in Pauls Valley.  He was a good friend to me at a time of life when I badly needed quality friendships.  He and my mom ran into each other at a lumber yard in Oklahoma City in the late 60s or early 70s, but she did not get any contact information.

Unfortunately, a couple of years ago I sorted and tossed old pictures I had.  Homer Ray's were among them.  I wish I had them to mail to you now.  I think you would enjoy having them.

I was delighted to read he was a member of the Nazarene church.  As typical teenagers of the 60s, I do not remember talking about our relationships with God and influence Christ had on our lives.  I wonder how many opportunities I have passed up by not approaching the subject with those around me.

I am in the process of moving from Minnesota back to Oklahoma (Purcell).  Please feel free to use me as a resource if any of the family needs anything.
