In Loving Memory Of

Velma Miller

Velma Miller, 83, of Pauls Valley; born June 26, 1924 in Sulphur, Oklahoma the first of six children to John T. and Bernice B. (Pugh) Clayton.

Velma attended school at Fox and Wilson with the class of 1942 and she enjoyed the fall festival and the alumni banquets each year.

Velma Helen Clayton was married to Jimmie Miller in Gainesville, Texas on January 4, 1960. Mr. Miller preceded her in death November 29, 1992

Pauls Valley has been her home for over 47 years. Until her retirement, Velma worked at the Fields Pie Factory in Pauls Valley for over 27 years making sure the pies were of top quality. She enjoyed working word search, watching soaps, collecting dolls and making sure the flowers were fixed for family members who have gone before her. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Perry Clayton and John Clayton; and two granddaughters.

Surviving family include her five children, Billie June Davis of Pauls Valley, John Chatman, Jr. of Frisco, Texas, Helen Woodward of Westfork, Arkansas, Clayton Miller and James Miller, both, of Pauls Valley; 3 sisters, Margie Garrett of Wilson, Betty Daniel of Tishomingo and Mary Hightower of Stratford; 13 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces & nephews; other family and friends that loved her dearly.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Bro. Tim Bowen. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

Grannie... I love you so much & I miss you so much already!!  You will never know how much all the memories mean to me, Jason, & Matt.  What we wouldn't give for one more memory!  But I know you are with God & you are in a better place... with all of our loved & missed relatives that have gone on before.  You will always be in my heart & in my mind.  I love you!!!  Watch over everyone.. especially Dad!  Til we meet again.......
