Lavada W. McCarty
Lavada W. McCarty, of Pauls Valley was born August 29,
1920 in Brady, Oklahoma to Dod Kelly Baker and Helen Dickerson Baker.
She passed away February 24, 2008 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age
of 87 years.
Lavada was married to John Nute McCarty at Wynnewood, Oklahoma on
November 25, 1938. She was a member of Beaty Baptist Church and the
McCarty Extension Club. She enjoyed reading books and spending time with
her family.
Lavada was preceded in death by her parents, Dod & Helen Baker; her
husband, John Nute McCarty, on October 11, 2000; son, Larry McCarty in
1979; 3 brothers, Willard Baker, Howard Baker & Leon Baker; sister,
Valley Choate; and son-in-law, Darrin Adam Hume, January 11, 2008.
Surviving family include her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Lynda
McCarty of Stratford; daughter, Tina Hume of Pauls Valley; 4
grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and a
daughter-in-law, Lavern McCarty of Elmore City.
Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at
2:00 pm at Mt. Olivet Cemetery officiated by Dr. Joe Elam. Interment
will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey
Funeral Home. |
