In Loving Memory Of
LaNell McCartney

Lanell McCartney, of Pauls Valley, was born September 13, 1924 in
Poteau, Oklahoma to Albert and Ella (Dunn) Thompson.
She passed away May 11, 2007 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 82
years.
LaNell moved to Wynnewood in 1959 and on August 30, 1962, she and Frank
McCartney were married in the First Baptist Church in Wynnewood,
Oklahoma. Later they moved to Duncan where they lived until 1987 when
they returned to make Pauls Valley their home.
She was a retired Cosmetologist and a Homemaker and was an active member
of First Baptist Church of Pauls Valley. Her memberships also included
the Home Economics Club in which she had received many awards for her
activities and projects, The Pansy Garden Club and the Mom's Club.
LaNell was known for her hand needle work especially the needle point
Angels which she made special for her two daughters and her
daughter-in-law. She was also recognized for her cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister, Veda Graham.
Surviving family include her husband of nearly 45 years, Frank, of the
home; 3 children, Jesse McCartney and his wife, Kay, of Salisbury, North
Carolina; Linda Allen and her husband, Lanny, of Amarillo, Texas; and
Kay Whitefield and her husband, Wayne, of Wynnewood; 10 grandchildren,
15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandsons.
To her extended family at The Willows and the Care Givers at the Pauls
Valley General Hospital the family wishes to express their deepest
appreciation for their kindness and special care.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 14, 2007 at 2:00 pm at First
Baptist Church of Pauls Valley officiated by Dr. Joe Elam. Burial will
be at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral
Home.
