Jewel M. Marcum

Jewel Marie Marcum, of Pauls Valley was born December 2, 1915 in Allen, Oklahoma to John Henry and Edna (Cotner) Walker.

She passed away January 21, 2006 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years.

She moved with her family to the Pauls Valley area and has made her home here since she was 8 years of age.

Jewel Marie Walker was married to John Franklin (Frank) Seratte on September 25, 1937. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1976.

She worked as a cook in several of the area Livestock Auctions as well as in the Civit School.

On December 8, 1977 she and O. D. Marcum were married in her home in the Peavine Community near Pauls Valley. He preceded her in death on August 23, 2004.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands as well as 3 brothers, Homer Walker, William Gladstone "Mid" Walker and Theodore Walker; and by 4 sisters, Lillie Clark and three sisters at an early age.

Surviving family include her two daughters, Glenda Kay and Larry Trent Plummer and Linda Gay and Carroll Jay Anderson, all of Pauls Valley; one brother, Kenneth Walker of Newcastle; one sister, Odessa Roberts of Pauls Valley; 4 grandchildren, Everett Lee Plummer and his wife, Audra, Cary T. Plummer, Laura Dawn Anderson and Jonathan Charles Anderson and his wife, Allison.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at 11:00 am at Stufflebean Chapel officiated by Bro. Tim Bowen. Burial will be at Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
