Loye Maye Looney

Loye Maye Looney, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed from this life on July 18, 2006 in Liberty Hill, Texas.

She was born in Byars, Oklahoma to Oscar and Grace Springer on June 17, 1915.

Loye Maye Springer married Baxter Looney on May 8, 1934 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. They were blessed with one son, Thomas Looney.

She worked as a sales clerk at Wacker's Department Store in Pauls Valley. She also worked as a house cleaner and was a quilter and a seamstress most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Baxter Looney on February 20, 1982; her son, Thomas Looney on July 12, 2004; and by three brothers.

Surviving family include her daughter-in-law, Betty Looney of Liberty Hill, Texas; grandchildren, Randy Looney and his wife, Melinda of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Richard Looney and his wife, Nancy of Duncan, Oklahoma, Regina Cox and her husband, Jeff Cox of Liberty Hill, Texas. She also had six great-grandchildren, Ashley Looney, Cody Looney, Scott Looney and his wife, Heather, Tracy Looney, Rachel Cox and Brian Cox as well as two great-great-grandchildren, Hannah Looney and Haegan Looney.

Pallbearers will be Randy Looney, Richard Looney, Scott Looney, Jeff Cox and Brian Cox.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 10:00 am at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance with Elder Mike Hughes officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home in Pauls Valley.
