In Loving Memory Of

Don Wray Loftin

Don Wray Loftin, I, was born November 17, 1927 in Pauls Valley, OK. A resident of Stratford, OK for his last two years, he passed away in Ardmore, OK on June 6, 2006.

Don was descended from the Bond and Loftin families of Pauls Valley. He developed his great love of fishing alongside Uncle C. T. Loftin. He passed on that joy of fishing to his children and grandchildren alike.

His deep and abiding love of God was instilled by his loving parents, Samuel Joseph Loftin and Linda Lotille Bond Loftin, as well as his beloved Aunts Mildred Jewett Bond Suggs and Evelyn Bond Loftin, among many other devoted family Christians. His Bible, ever by his side, was well worn and remains a family treasure.

Mr. Loftin served in the United States Navy at the end of World War II as a seaman. Pursuing his lifelong love of flying, he joined the Federal Aviation Administration where he was employed for more than 35 years.

Aside from the Lord, his greatest love was his wife Jeanne Loftin, to whom he was married 53 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother John B. Loftin.

He is survived by his wife Jeanne Loftin of Stratford, OK; son Jim Loftin of Houston, TX; son Don W. Loftin II, daughter-in-law Kay and grandsons and fishing buddies Don W. “Trey” III and David Loftin of Pearland, TX; devoted daughter Loti Coffey of Oklahoma City, OK; granddaughter Allison Lowe of Oklahoma City, OK; more fishing buddies Nick and Kristin Lowe (grandson and wife) of Oklahoma City, OK: and grandson Shawn Coffey of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter Leslie Phillips, son-in-law Steve Phillips and littlest grandsons, Michael, Joshua an Andrew Phillips of Katy, TX; and loving sister Linda Griffin of Dallas, TX.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 10 at Stufflebean Coffey Funeral Home in Pauls Valley. Viewing hours will be from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m., with services at 2:00 p.m. followed by the burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

For those who desire, memorials may be given in his name to your local Alzheimer’s charity, or to the National Autism Association.
