Ila Mae Spangler Jordan

Ila Mae Jordan, 83, Overland Park, Kansas passed away, Monday July 26, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-7 p.m. at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Rd, Kansas City, Missouri. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 30, 2004 in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation "Research", P. O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX  75265.

Ila Mae was born on July 22, 1921 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. She married Sam I. Jordan, Jr. on June 7, 1942 and moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1950.There she was a home economics teacher in the Derby school district until retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband and her brother, Arthur Spangler, M. D. from Weston, Massachusetts.

She is survived by two sons, Sam I. Jordan, III and his wife Meridee of Leawood, Kansas, Richard S. Jordan of Overland Park, Kansas; one daughter, Cherri L. Byington and her husband Sam of Neosho Rapids, Kansas; four grandchildren, Megan Jordan Arnold and her husband Jacob, of New York, New York, Matthew S. Jordan of Kansas City, Missouri, Angela M. McKnab and her husband Michael of Emporia, Kansas and Curtis J. Byington of Neosho Rapids, Kansas.
