In Loving Memory Of

Sarah Jo Jones

Sarah Jo Jones, of Wynnewood was born March 9, 1933 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to O. M. "Earl" and Katie Bell (Baker) Cottrell.

She passed away February 13, 2010 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 4 days.

Sarah Jo Cottrell and W. L. Jones were married in Wynnewood, Oklahoma on April 17, 1954. She worked as a Nurse's Aid and Housekeeping for over 20 years at the Colonial Nursing Home in Pauls Valley. The Oakdale/Wynnewood Community has been her home since she was eight years of age. Sarah was a member of Wynnewood First Assembly of God Church. Among her many activities that she enjoyed included mowing and working in the yard; working in her flower beds as well as cooking and sewing. For her dedicated volunteer work she was awarded a Citation from State Representative, Danny Hilliard; Senator, Johnny Crutchfield and the Department of Human Services.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, O. M. "Earl" and Katie Bell Cottrell; her husband, W. L. Jones; a brother, Everett Cottrell and a son-in-law, Jerry Lawson.

Surviving family include her four children, Joyce Lawson of Dougherty; Bobby Jones, Dyann Pyka and Christal Murphy and her husband, K. W. Murphy, all of Wynnewood; one brother, Edgar "Doodle" Cottrell of Eufaula; three sisters, Janell Douglas and Sue Montgomery of Wynnewood and Glenda Stevens of Santee, California; nine grandchildren, Amy Cox, Robin Lawson, Amanda Parker, Erin Baxter, Buddy Rushing, Melissa Jones, Bobbie Vowell, Skylar Murphy, and John Jones; twelve great-grandchildren, Dylan, Justin, Brendan, Derek, Afton, Katie, Trevor, Lillian, Madison, Ethan, Courtney, and Shanna.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Tim McGough and Rev. Clyde Quick. A private interment will be at Lewis Cemetery. Interment and professional services are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
