Muriel Gerew Goggans

Muriel Gerew Goggans passed away Friday, January 27, 2006 at the age of 76.

Born in Elmore City on September 26, 1929 to William H. and Zora (Odell) Wickware, Gerew later attended Pauls Valley schools. Upon graduation in 1947, she wed William Darwin Goggans on November 15, establishing a lifelong home in Pauls Valley.

Aside from raising three children, Gerew worked full-time in a number of positions, ultimately retiring from the Pauls Valley National Bank after 25 years of service. She was also a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church.

Gerew was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Darwin Goggans, and a brother, Amos Wickware.

She is survived by a daughter, Sheila Murray and husband Joe of Pauls Valley, and their children, Mariah Murray of Oklahoma City and Hillary and Andy Gustin of Edmond; a daughter, Gina Jozwiak and husband Frank and daughter Hannah of Ft. Worth, Texas; a son, Carey Goggans and wife Sandy and children Skylar and Chase of Pauls Valley; brother, G. D. “Wick” Wickware and wife Eva of Pauls Valley; and close, special friend, Shirley Boydstun of Pauls Valley.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean Chapel, officiated by Dr. Robert J. Kanary. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Pauls Valley Animal Shelter or preferred charity.
