Betty Jean Gibson

Betty
Jean Gibson, of Stratford was born February 21, 1941 in Gainesville, Texas
to Elbert Allen Phillips and Betsy Amos Phillips. She passed away February
15, 2006 at Stratford, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years.
She grew up in Velma Alma and graduated from Velma Alma High School. She
lived in this area most of her life. She was married to Chester Gibson.
She attended the Gospel Lighthouse.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, & seeing her grandchildren, gospel singings,
and going to church. She enjoyed singing gospel songs & spending time with
her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert & Betsy Phillips; one
son, Kyle Woods; two sisters, Kitty and Dorothy Phillips; and two
brothers, Johnny and Billy Phillips.
Surviving family include her husband, Chester Gibson, of Stratford; 3
children, Brian Stepp of Austin, Texas; Jimmy Stepp Jr. of Lone Grove, Ok;
and Kenneth Stepp of California; 3 Stepsons, Raymond Gibson of Ada; Terry
Gibson of Ada; and Chester Gibson Jr. & his wife, Shelly, of Ada; 3
Stepdaughters, Cornelia Balthrop & her husband Robert, of Ada; Tonya
Gibson of Antlers; and Staci Gibson of Antlers; 4 Brothers, Tommy Phillips
& his wife Kaye, of Wynnewood; Jerry Phillips of Pauls Valley; Benny
Phillips & his wife Sue, of Smithville, Arkansas; and Ralph Phillips of
Oklahoma; 1 Sister, Linda Black & her husband Glynn Stone, of Antlers; 4
Grandchildren, 9 Step Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild, and a host of
nieces & nephews,
Pallbearers will be Raymond Clayton Gibson, Chester Ray Gibson, Terry Lynn
Gibson, Charlie Amos, Ricky Phillips, and Lynn Phillips.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 20, 2006 at 1:00 pm at
Stufflebean Chapel officiated by Rev. Hazel Wallace. Burial will be at
Dixie Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
