Ruby M. Garner

Ruby M. Garner, of Pauls Valley was born June 9, 1920 in Ada, Oklahoma to James William and Kizzie O. (Mosier) Smith.

She passed away February 27, 2005 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years.

Ruby Smith was married to James A. 'Buddy Garner in Sulphur, Oklahoma in 1952. She and Buddy were married over 41 years before his preceding her in death. Ruby worked with her husband at farming and various other places and jobs. The Pauls Valley area has been her home all of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James A. 'Buddy' Garner on February 27, 1993; 3 brothers, Carl Smith, Bud Smith and Wes Smith and 2 grandsons.

Surviving family include her five children, Jerry Wayne Smith, of Tulsa, James Smith and his wife, Anna Jo, of Pauls Valley, Anna Hall of Chickasha, Betty Green and her husband, Ralph, of Paoli and Linda Boyd of Sulphur; two sisters, Jewel Hurley and Opal McClendon, both, of Pauls Valley; 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and, 1 great-great-grandson as well as a Special Friend and Caregiver, Rebecca Smith, of Pauls Valley.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at 10:00 am at Stufflebean Chapel officiated by Rev. Jimmy Dehart. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
