Mary Elizabeth (Heath) Huckaby Frankenberg, of Moore,
formerly of Paoli was born August 3, 1918 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to
Walker V. and Nora (Smith) Heath and passed away at 1:18 a.m., May 19,
2007, at the age of 88 years at Meadows Estates Manor in Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Elizabeth was married to John Vibert Huckaby in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma
on June 15, 1936. She attended Pauls Valley schools and later worked for
many years at Shumate and Sons Dry Good Store. Elizabeth was happy to be
a housewife and mother to John Walker Huckaby, born July 1, 1937, and a
help-mate to her husband on their farm near Paoli. Elizabeth enjoyed
sewing for her mother, herself, three sisters, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren as well as others from the age of twelve until she
became unable to sew. Elizabeth enjoyed cooking and canning fruits,
vegetables, jams and jellies. She belonged to the Farm Women's Club.
Elizabeth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pauls Valley until
the Valley Christian Church was formed and she became a charter member.
She lived most of her life in Pauls Valley and Lindsay, Oklahoma.
Elizabeth was called "Lusbeth" by her younger siblings until they could
pronounce Elizabeth.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; Walter and Nora Heath;
her first husband, John Vibert Huckaby in 1979. Later she married
William G. Frankenberg, who preceded her in death in 1989. She was also
preceded in death by her two sisters, Coy Bernice Heath and Willie V.
Morris; three brothers, Wesley Blanton Heath, Asa LaVoy Heath and Toland
LaRoy (Dolly) Heath.
Surviving family include her sister, Frances Pauline Evans of Midwest
City; her son, John Walker Huckaby and his wife, Lois, of Moore; two
granddaughters, Karen and Brenda; one grandson, Frankie Huckaby and his
wife, Julie; seven great-granddaughters; numerous nephews and nieces, in
Pauls Valley, Midwest City, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Tennessee; as
well as, a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
Elizabeth belonged to the Rebecca Lodge and visited and worked with
other Lodges in and around Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 1:00 pm at
Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Larry Cornforth.
Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in the Huckaby Family lot under
the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
