Nelva C. Teeter Edwards

Nelva C. Teeter Edwards, of Norman was born June 28, 1912 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Henry and Lillian (Caldwell) Sallee.

She passed away April 9, 2006 at Moore, Oklahoma at the age of 93 years.

Nevla Caroline Sallee was married to Loren Leroy "Barney" Teeters who preceded her in death in 1975. They were blessed with seven children; four of whom have preceded her in death: Ronnie D. Teeter, Don P. Teeter, Shirley Ridgeway and Peggy Kinslow Goins. Also preceding her in death are three grandchildren: Sharon K. Graves, Kathy Johnson and Rickie Kinslow. Ten years following the death of Barney, she and Rev. Burt Edwards were married; he preceded her in death in 1998.

She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. The Pauls Valley and Paoli areas have been her home most of her life. In 2003 her health had come to where she moved to the Moore and Norman areas until her passing on Saturday afternoon.

Surviving family include her children, Leroy Teeter and his wife, Joan, of Pauls Valley, Vivian Dover and her husband, Ray, of Pauls Valley and Caroline Vaughn of Oklahoma City.

She has also left a legacy of 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great-grandchildren; a 'grand' total of 70.

Nelva never met a stranger and loved everyone and everyone loved her. She is a mighty woman of Faith and was blessed on this earth with 93 years.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 2:00 pm at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery officiated by Gary Everett and Rev. M. E. Sellers. Interment will be at Mt.
