In Loving Memory Of
Opal Irene Duke

Opal Irene Duke, of Norman, was born March
9, 1911 in the Florence Chapel Community near Paoli, Oklahoma to Zach and
Mayme (Kelly) Florence.
Her departure was November 22, 2004 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 93
years.
Opal was the oldest of 10 children in the Florence family. She attended
and graduated from the Florence Chapel School, later attending college at
East Central in Ada.
Opal Irene Florence and Raymond P. Duke were married in Ada, Oklahoma and
later moved to Guymon, Oklahoma where they lived for over 50 years. There
she worked as a Dental Assistant until her retirement.
Feeling the need to be closer to family, she and her husband moved to
Norman, which has been her home for the past 10 years.
Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond P. Duke in 1997; her
daughter, Raylene Holland in 1999; by 1 brother, R. C.; and by 2 sisters,
Sue and Juanita.
Surviving family include her 3 granddaughters, Sherry Holden and her
husband, David and Jamie Askey and her husband, David, all of Norman, and
Bobbi Ramon and her husband, Fred, of Pembroke Pines, Florida; 6
great-grandchildren, Brandon Westmoreland, Evan Askey, Jacob Askey,
Madison Ramon, Julie Hodgden and Lori Holden; 2 brothers, Zack Florence
and his wife, Carol, and Gene Florence; 4 sisters, Hazel Boren, Marguerite
Thrasher, Nadean Thrasher and her husband, Jake and Mayme Jo Guest and her
husband, Gene. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and dear
friends.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Westmoreland, David Holden, David Askey, and
Fred Ramon.
Funeral services will be
held Saturday, November 27, 2004 at 11:00 am at Stufflebean Chapel
officiated by Doug Parker and David Holden. Burial will be at the Mt.
Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
