In Loving Memory Of

Rev. Hale Alexander Dixon

Reverend Hale Alexander Dixon was born August 8, 1912 in New Florence, Missouri to William Marcellus and Cassie Mae (Walker) Dixon. He went to be with our Lord, Friday, January 27, 2006 in Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma.

Hale attended Warrenton Junior College, William Jewel College and Southern Seminary. Through the years he was pastor at First Baptist Church Plattsburg, MO., Brookside Baptist Church Tulsa, OK, First Baptist Church Pauls Valley, OK, First Baptist Church Woodward, OK, Valley and following his retirement was pastor at the Prairie View Mission, Wynnewood, Ok.

He has served on a number of Board and Committees including: Trustee at Oklahoma Baptist University, Recording secretary for 30 years at Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma (BGCO), Falls Creek Board (BGCO), Hospital Board (BGCO), and Hospital Board at Pauls Valley General Hospital.

Hale Alexander Dixon and Mary Sue Moseley were married in Troy, Missouri on July 18, 1935. Mary Sue preceded him in death after 65 years of marriage.

Surviving family include his sisters, Mrs. Faye Moore of Henderson, Texas, Margaret Jones of Warrenton, Missouri and Louella Rawlings of Montgomery City, Missouri; two children, Stephen L. Dixon and wife Sharon of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma and David H. Dixon of Abilene, Texas; grandchildren, Bryan Dixon and wife Shawn of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Brent Dixon and wife Susan of Gum Springs of Virginia, Stephanie Dixon of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma, Cindy Wingate and husband, Fred of Birmingham, Alabama and Gordon Christopher Dixon of Annadale, Virginia.

Also surviving are five Great Grandchildren: Cody, Skye, Scout, Camden and Saige Dixon

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at the First Baptist Church of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma with Brother Dixon’s nephew Joe Dixon Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bing officiating, assisted by Dwayne Thompson, Pastor of the First Baptist Church Ft. Gibson, OK. and Dr. Joe Elam, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Pauls Valley, OK. Interment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley under the direction of the Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home in Pauls Valley.
