In Loving Memory Of

Imogene Ruth (Ford) Davis

Imogene Ruth (Ford) Davis, of Pauls Valley, was born April 24, 1927 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Lonnie Mitchell and Addie Francis (Hellum) Ford. She passed away February 8, 2007 at Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years.

The Paoli and Ardmore areas have been her home most of her life.

Most of her friends knew her as Granny Gene or Nanny Gene due to her daycare center in Paoli and she loved and was very proud of every child she cared for.

Surviving family include: her three children, Clyde L. (Lee) Davis, Jr. and his wife, Paulette, of Las Vegas, Nevada; Larry D. Davis and his wife, Linda; and Iris Davis, all of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Mari Gail Davis; Tiffany Forshey and her husband, John, of Las Vegas, Nevada; Brent Davis and his wife, Dana; Jason Davis; and Eric Davis and his wife, Barbara, all of Pampa, Texas; Kevin Davis; and Erin Davis, both of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; 13 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who were special to her and shared their lives and love with her until the day she passed.

Private family memorial services will be conducted at a later time. Services for cremation are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home in Pauls Valley.

'Gene' left a letter she wanted shared after she passed and the family will include it here: To my children and very good friends whom I loved very much, thank you all for being there, God love.

My children, I have loved and cared for you with all my being. My grandchildren, I have given the same love but maybe a bit more reserved care, I think. I did all this but you have all given me so much more. Things were hectic, tiring, interesting but oh so lovely. I would not have wanted to live my life anywhere else or with anyone else, or any other way, other than with you.

My life has been a beautiful experience Thank you all.

As I have taken care of you so my Father in heaven has taken care of me. I am now at rest in His house, and will someday welcome you one and all here with me, at your appointed time. Goodbye my loves.

Go home now, cry a little, laugh a lot and get on with your life, think not what I would have wanted but what is right for you.

Think good thought and love the Lord. Love you all, your Mama and friend.
