Eskel Ruth Harris Miller Courtney, a resident of Midwest City was born April 12, 1918 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Eva Jane and William Miller. She passed away February 5, 2004 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years.
She was married to Howard Courtney at Gainesville, Texas on May 25, 1936. She was a cook & restaurant manager for many years in Pauls Valley and Oklahoma City. She was born and raised in Pauls Valley until 1959, and lived in Oklahoma City since 1966. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard Courtney; one son, Howard Julian Courtney and one brother, Darrell Harris.

Surviving family include her 3 children, Melvin Courtney, of Sapulpa; and Patsy Ruth McKee of Lovington, New Mexico; and Barbara Fields of Midwest City; brother, Melvin Harris of Elmore City; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, 3 nieces & 2 nephews.
