In Loving Memory Of

George Edward Cornell

George Cornell, a long-time resident of Pauls Valley, was born January 20, 1911 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Ernest and Ida (Caruthers) Cornell.

He passed away February 1, 2006 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 95 years.

George was a member of the Beaty Baptist Church. He and Myrtle Swiger were married in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on July 21, 1931.

He was a Farmer and had made the Beaty and Antioch Communities his home all of his life.

He was preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Ida Cornell; his wife of 64 years, Myrtle Cornell on January 3, 1996; one son, Carl Cornell on August 11, 1996; and two sisters, Tressie Fuller and Alma Cook.

Surviving family include one son, Glen Cornell and his wife, Norma; a daughter-in-law, Theresa Cornell and one sister, Lorene O'Neal, all of Paul Valley; five grandsons, Jerry Cornell and his wife, Amy, Keith Cornell, and Scott Cornell, all of Pauls Valley, Kent Cornell and his wife, Ginger of Sulphur and Mark Cornell and his wife, Kolinda, of Poteau; two granddaughters, Angie Mariano and her husband, Mike of Arkansas and Jeanette Bunch and her husband, Tom of Pauls Valley; thirteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be, Jerry Cornell, Keith Cornell, Scott Cornell, Kent Cornell, Mark Cornell, Mike Mariano and Tom Bunch.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 6, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean Chapel officiated by Rev. Finis Steelman. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
