In Loving Memory Of

Edna Mae Cole

Edna Mae Cole of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma was born to James Archie Day and Theresa Josephine (Cajacob) Day on September 22, 1910, in Kanaranzi, Minnesota. She was baptized on November 10, 1911 in the Saint William Catholic Church in Ramona, South Dakota. She passed away on May 12, 2007 at 06:35PM at the age of 96 years to leave this earthly life for a wonderful life with her Savior in Heaven and to be together again with her loving husband. She was married to the love of her life Joe Winter Cole on February 11, 1940 in Williamsport, Indiana.

Edna grew up and graduated from Drummer Township High School with Honors, Captain of her basketball team, 1925- 1928 and Cheerleader in Gibson City, Illinois. She was a loving mother, grandmother and homemaker who loved to sew, garden and was an outstanding cook to include her superior baking skills learned from her Swiss mother, Theresa. She was very active in St Catherine’s Catholic Church in Pauls Valley. She loved her home out in the country that her husband built for her so she could have clean air and a quiet neighborhood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Theresa Day, one sister, Nora Margaret Duncan and her husband George, two brothers, Kenneth E. Day and his wife, Minnie, and Fremont J. Day and his wife Valera, infant son, John Wayne Cole in 1942 and her beloved husband, Joe Winter Cole who died November 10, 1973.

She is survived by her daughter, Charmaine Wallace of Pauls Valley and her son, James Winter Cole and his wife Joyce of Richardson Texas, and two grandchildren, Thomas H. Wallace and his wife Cristina of Dallas, Texas and Clifton Darryl Wallace of Moore, Oklahoma, and many nieces and nephews in Texas, Arizona, and Indiana. She is also survived by many friends to include her caretakers Bonnie Chronister, Maurine Berry, and her special long time caretaker and friend, Juanita Zellner to include the cherished staff of the Wynnewood Care Center.

A Rosary Service will be held on Monday, May 14 at 7:00PM in the Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home in Pauls Valley.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 10:00AM at St. Catherine’s of Sienna Catholic Church officiated by Father Michael Vaught. Internment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
