In Loving Memory Of

Gwendolyn "Sue" Cochran

Gwendolyn "Sue" Cochran, of Pauls Valley was born April 17, 1945 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma at the Robberson-Shirley Clinic to Lee Bob and Alice Simmons.

She passed away April 16, 2008 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 63 years.

She attended school at McCarty Country School 6 miles east of Elmore City where her father would take her to school on horse back as well as pick her up in the afternoon. In 1963 she graduated from the Elmore City High School.

On August 22, 1964 Gwendolyn Sue Simmons married Fred E. Cochran in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. For 40 years she enjoyed her work at the Hilltop School at the Southern Oklahoma Resource Center (SORC) and retired December 1, 2007. She attended the First Christian Church in Pauls Valley and has made the Elmore City, Wynnewood and Pauls Valley area her home all of her life.

Sue was well known for wearing her bright colored jewelry and clothing. She loved to "garage-sale", to walk, shop and to read; as well as attending the Friday night singings in Elmore City; and has always loved 'Betty Boop'; but above of all she loved her grandson, Treston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; as well as two sisters, Imogene Brook and Geneva Pool.

Surviving family include her husband, Fred Cochran of the home; their daughter, Paula and her husband, Tim Williams; her grandson, Treston Williams, all of Pauls Valley; two brothers, Bobby Simmons and his wife, Phyllis, of Shawnee and Freddie Simmons and his wife, Mary Lou, of Elmore City; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Sue will always be with us through each smile you see.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance. Interment will be at Whitebead Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

Sue, you were what most people could only imagine being. You never cared of what people thought or said, you just lived life the way you wanted and loved every minute of it. There will never be another person that could ever take your place. The way you were just so happy all the time and ALWAYS kept a smile on that beautiful face. You will truly be missed "Betty Boop".

To the family of Sue, may God be with you during your time of pain and heartache. You were truly blessed to have someone like her in your life.
