In Loving Memory Of
James E. Cochran

James E. Cochran, of Pauls Valley was born May 10, 1918 in
Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Emory Elijah and Mary Elizabeth Bridwell
Cochran. James was the middle child of 15 children. He passed away October
13, 2005 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years.
Pauls Valley has been his home all of his life. He played on the 1935
Pauls Valley Panther football team who became both state and bi-state
champions that year. He was married to Phyllis Jean Bishop in Wynnewood,
Oklahoma on November 19, 1960. He was a rancher and farmer and served on
the board of the Garvin County Savings and Loan. James was a member of the
Oklahoma Cattleman's Association and the First United Methodist Church.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to
the First United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers, Floyd Cochran, Joe
Cochran, Ralph Cochran, Albert Cochran, Wilburn Cochran and Ray Cochran; 3
sisters, Berniece Bradley, Joy McGeehon and Bertha Mae Simmons as well as
4 infant siblings.
Surviving family include his wife of 45 years, Jean of the home; 2
daughters, Carolyn Williams and her husband John of Pauls Valley and Angie
Stolper and her husband Jon of Tulsa; 5 grandsons, James, Jonathan and
Jacob Williams, Nathan and Matthew Stolper, 1 brother, Woodrow D. Cochran
of Peoria, Illinois; 3 sisters-in-law, Juanita Cochran, Cleta Cochran and
Mana Cochran.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 17, 2005 at 10:00 am at
First United Methodist Church officiated by Dr. Robert J. Kanary and Jon
Stolper. Burial will be at Whitebead Cemetery under the direction of
Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
