In Loving Memory Of

Marvin Childress

Marvin Childress, of Maysville was born June 15, 1914 in Waterman, Texas to Carl and Media Childress.

He passed away February 22, 2006 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years.

Marvin Childress and Mammie (Adams) Ellithorp in Maysville, Oklahoma on December 23, 1995. He worked with the Track Gang with Santa Fe Railroad and retired after 32 years of service. The Maysville area has been his home most of his life where he was a member of the Unity Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Carl and Media Childress; his wife of over 60 years, Francies Lucille Childress; a son, Marvin Ray Childress and an infant son, David Jonathan Childress; 4 brothers and a granddaughter, Sherry Lynn Smith.

Surviving family include his wife, Mammie, of Maysville; three children, Faye Smith and her husband, Bob, of Ada, Sandy Smith and her husband, Darrell, of Oregon City, Oregon and Royce Childress and his wife, Pat, of Pauls Valley; one sister, Mildred Mathews of Livingston, Texas; as well as eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 27, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean Chapel officiated by Rev. Darrell Smith. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
