In Loving Memory Of

Flora Mae "Nanny" Carr

On January 24, 1928, a blessed event took place. A baby girl was born to Lemmie James and William W. Fields. Her name was Flora Mae Fields (Carr).

Flora professed faith in Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Flora, lovingly known by her family a "Nanny", grew up in Pauls Valley. She attended Dunbar School. Flora met and married Essex James Carr in 1953. Flora worked as a Nurses' Aide and also at Kellwood. Flora enjoyed listening to music and she loved celebrating with her family.

She passed away April 26, 2008 at Wynnewood, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years.

Flora was preceded in death by her parents, Lemmie Sparks and William Fields; her husband, Essex Carr on March 16, 1971; one sister and two brothers.

She leaves to cherish her memories: one sister, Maultie Fields of Pauls Valley; two brothers, Jodie Ford of Wynnewood and Willie Fields, of Altus; one uncle, Floyd James of Pauls Valley; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 2, 2008 at 2:00 pm at the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Pauls Valley. Ministers officiating will be: Rev. Morris Griffin; Rev. James Jones, Rev. Bruce Ford, Rev. Michael Ford and Eld. Frank McCarrole. Interment will be at the Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
