In Loving Memory Of
Herbert G. Canady

Herbert G. Canady, of Pauls Valley was born October 30,
1917 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma the eleventh child of William and Caroline
Warren Canady. He departed this world April 21, 2005 at Norman, Oklahoma
at the age of 87 years.
Herbert was born and raised in Pauls Valley. He moved to Oklahoma City in
1942 and lived there until going to work in Oak Ridge, Tennessee as a
civilian employee on the "Manhattan Project". He remained there until
enlisting in the Army Air Corp in 1944. Upon being discharged from the
Army, he returned to his home in Oklahoma City. He lived there until 2001
when he returned to his beloved Pauls Valley to stay until June 2004 when
he moved to the Norman Veteran's Center. He lived there for 10 months and
was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away.
Herbert was a cement mason all of his working life, having learned the
trade from his father and older brothers. His favorite things in life were
his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to fish and to work in
his yard. Herbert was an avid reader who enjoyed reading everything from
Shakespeare to Louis Lamoure novels.
Herbert is survived by his sons Gary & his wife Virginia Canady of Pauls
Valley; Ronald & his wife Carolyn Canady of Elmore City; Richard & his
wife Kathy Canady of Seattle, Washington; his daughter Frances Anderson of
Pauls Valley; his grandchildren, Pam Kozak of Oklahoma City; Gordon Canady
of Pauls Valley; Mike Canady of Oklahoma City; Ronda Roether of Oklahoma
City; Rick Canady of Union City; Kristan Shreve of Elmore City; Tony
Crouch of Woodward; Alen Canady of Coquille, Oregon; Michelle Love of
Cement; Stacy Kozub of Orange, California; Gregory Harmon of Oklahoma
City; Leah Canady of Seattle, Washington; Stacui Canady of Seattle,
Washington; 21 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; one
brother, Marvin Canady of Kenniwick, Washington; two sisters, Barbara
Courville and Hazel Posten both of Pampa, Texas.
Herbert was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Jake, Albert,
James and George; 6 sisters, Josaphine, Elizabeth, Ruby, Velma, Norma &
Helen; his wives, Cleo Cannon and Erma Prebble.
He will be sorely missed by his loving family.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 25, 2005 at 2:00 pm at
Stufflebean Chapel officiated by Chuck Lightfoot and Rev. Larry Cornforth.
Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of
Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. Notes of Remembrance and/or Condolences
