James C. "Jay" Brown

James C. "Jay" Brown, of Pauls Valley, was born February 3, 1930 in Madill, Oklahoma to Earl Brown and Gladys. He grew up in the Madill and Ardmore areas.

Jay passed away December 26, 2006 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years.

On February 13, 1952 he and Florence Torroni were married in Reno. Nevada. He has been an Oil Field Worker for many years and has attended Beaty Baptist Church. Pauls Valley has been his home for the past 8 years.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers, Tommy Gene Brown and Edgar Brown.

Surviving family include his wife of 54 years, Florence of Ardmore; 7 children, Sheila Woolsey, of Gainesville, Texas, Bobby Brown and Donna Brown of Ardmore, Joyce Moore of Pauls Valley, Debra Luther of Ingleside, Texas, Brenda Green of Pauls Valley and James D. Brown of Staceyville, Iowa; a very special friend, Laura Tobey of Pauls Valley; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 cousins, Loyd and Nola Brown of Graham, Ok., and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, 2006 at 10:30 am at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Kevin Driskill. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
