In Loving Memory Of

Clistia Mae Boone

Clistia Mae Boone joined our Saviour in heaven on February 22, 2010. Clistia (Colburn) Boone was born to James A. & Lois (Hughens) Colburn on May 19, 1931 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma.

A long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Pauls Valley, she served in various ministries of the church to include Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Volunteer, Choir member and cook. She felt a personal calling for visiting the homebound, hospitalized or residents in nursing homes as she brought them God's Word with her beautiful smile and precious spirit. Clistia's hobbies included quilting, antiquing, ceramics, and cooking. She worked for Humpty-Dumpty for over 20 years before retiring and becoming a real estate agent with her son, Larry. She also developed an entrepreneurial antique business at the Swap Shop for several years.

Her greatest joy on earth however was her family. She married her childhood sweetheart, Wallace Boone, and they celebrated their 62nd anniversary in May 2009. The remainder of her family include: her sons Larry Boone and his wife Phyllis, residents of Pauls Valley, and Steve Boone and his wife Karla, residents of Oklahoma City. Her grandchildren are Ambre Gooch and her husband Ron of Oklahoma City, Chelsea Boone and her husband Patrick Bolen of Pauls Valley, and Stephanie Clistia Boone of Oklahoma City. Her great grandchildren are Talor Gooch, Cassidi Gooch and Savanna Bolen. She leaves one sister and brother in law, Betty and Wilfred Rodgers of Anadarko and numerous nieces and nephews.

Those awaiting to welcome her in heaven are both parents as well as three brothers, Jack Roy, Billy and J. A. Colburn and one sister Colleen Nikkel.

Clistia was dearly loved by her family and many friends who considered her a true Angel on earth. We were blessed to have shared her love!

Memorials may be made to the Clistia Boone Scholarship at the First Baptist Church of Pauls Valley at P. O. Box 490 in Pauls Valley, Ok. 73075.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 2:30 pm at First Baptist Church of Pauls Valley officiated by Dr. Joe Elam. Private interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Interment and professional services are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

My thoughts and prayer are with you during this difficult time.
Our visits that we had every two weeks as I polished Clistia's
nails were precious to me. She loved her nails looking beautiful.
She was very kind and sweet. Although I only knew her a short time,
she will forever be in my heart. Rest in peace precious angel.

God Bless,
Rhonda Prichard

  • I am so sad tonight after reading of the passing of Clistia
in the Pauls Valley Daily Democrat, she was the kindest woman
I ever knew. My thoughts and Prayers are with you in this time
of sorrow. Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile,
a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest
act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
Embrace all equally! Clistia was such a woman.

A thought to comfort you. Imagine, if you can, a place where mountains meet the sky, Where fragrant flowers fill the air and winding streams flow by. Imagine, if you can, a world where joy replaces grief, for thinking of this wondrous place will bring your heart relief. Thinking of you today, and wishing you comfort and peace of mind. God Bless each of you during this time of sorrow.

    To Clista’s Family:

Bill and I thought the world of Clista.
She was one of the first people we met when we
moved to Pauls Valley in 1975. She worked in
Humpty Dumpty and that is how we met her.
We joined First Baptist then, and she was just as
sweet on the inside as she always looked on the
outside. Always a smile! She was a great Christian
lady and will be greatly missed.
