Rev. T. E. Blackwood

Rev. Thomas E. Blackwood, of Pauls Valley was born December 29, 1907 in Wortham, Texas to Hiram and Clara Ann Blackwood.

He passed away November 22, 2005 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 97 years.

He moved to Pauls Valley with his family at the age of thirteen then returned to Wortham, Texas around 1923 where he met the love of his life, Gracie Emler. They were married in Dallas, Texas on August 30, 1927. Rev. Blackwood and his family lived in the Dallas area where he was a Minister until his retirement. In 1993 he and his wife returned to make Pauls Valley their home.

His wife of over 72 years, Gracie Neina Blackwood, preceded him in death on January 7, 2000. He was a member of House of Prayer.

Surviving family include his sons, B. R. Blackwood of Gormley Ontario, Canada; B. G. Blackwood of Pauls Valley and B. V. Blackwood of Roxton, Texas; one sister, Faletta Cohen of Mechanicsville, Virginia; 4 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, numerous great and, great-great-grandchildren.

The family requests that Memorials for Rev. T. E. Blackwood be sent to the Valley Lodge #6 at P. O. Box 1166 in Pauls Valley, OK. 73075. The funds will be used for Children's Charity.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery where interment will follow under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. Notes of Remembrance and/or Condolences may be sent to the family at www.stufflebeanfuneralhome.com.
