Melvin Kenneth Beaty

Melvin Kenneth Beaty, of Ardmore was born March 15, 1931 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to John L. and Lula (Craig) Beaty. He was raised in the Pauls Valley area.

On October 9, 1952, Melvin began a tour of duty in the U. S. Army. He earned the National Defense Service Medal and the rank of Private First Class. Melvin served in Battery A 97th AAA Gun Battalion. He was discharged on October 25, 1954.

Ardmore has been his home for the passed 20 years.

He passed away March 12, 2005 at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters; three brothers and a half-sister.

Melvin is survived by his 1 niece, Debra Tinnin of Pauls Valley; 4 nephews, Bill Whitefield of Pauls Valley, Ronnie Gaines, Donnie Gaines and Eric Gaines, all of Wilson, Oklahoma; as well as a brother in law, Rudolph Gaines of Wilson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 11:00 am at Graveside Services - Mt. Olivet Cemetery officiated by Bro. Tim Bowen. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
