- Sibyl Lolon Ballard, 96, beloved wife mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother, passed away March 28, 2004, in the Washita Valley
Living Center, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.
Sibyl was born August 1, 1907 in Story, Indian Territory, to Benjamin
F.and Bertha Odom Lillard. She was a graduate of Maysville High School
and attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She
married Clint Ballard June 8, 1930 in Pauls Valley.
Sibyl loved to sew and cook for her family and had many cherished
associations in her church and the community. She and her husband and
son were active members of the First Christian Church, Pauls Valley.
Sibyl is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clint; brother,
Odom Lillard; sister, Hazel Lillard Fant; half-brother, Ross Lillard;
and son, Carrol Ballard.
Survivors include her five granddaughters: Cari (Steve) Zawrotny, of
Pauls Valley, Becky (Doug) Miller, of Cedar Hills, Chris (Don)
Johnson, of Whitebead, Kitty (Alan) Butt, of Orem, Utah, and Mia
Ballard, of Pauls Valley; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Sibyl's family wishes to thank Valley Hospice for their care and
support during her illness and to thank Flora Garmany for her ever
watchful eyes and ears.
Donations in Sibyl's memory may be made to the First Christian Church
of Pauls Valley, Valley Hospice, or the Pauls Valley Public Library.
- Funeral services will be held April 1, 2004 at 1:00 pm at
Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home, officiated by Dr. Jim Crockett.
Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of
Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
Friends are invited to visit with the family at Sibyl's home on Willow
Street between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
