Herman Austin Ashley

Herman Austin Ashley, of Pauls Valley, was born November 30, 1933 in Paoli, Oklahoma to Herman Walter and Dorothy (Fraze) Ashley.

He passed away August 2, 2007 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years.

He served in the U.S. Army from September 30, 1955 until his Honorable Discharge on July 31, 1957. His work included an Oil Field Worker Floor Hand, a Farmer and since about 1990 he has made Willow Chairs. This area has been his home all of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, David Ashley and two sisters, Malinda Ashley and Eula Pigg.

Surviving family include two daughters and their husbands, Deanna and Steve Thompson of Pauls Valley and Debbie and Robert Burks of Lindsay; one son, David Ashley of Pauls Valley; one brother, George Ashley of Pauls Valley; and one sister, Judy Jones, of Paoli; as wells as: eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, August 6, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Whitebead Cemetery officiated by Rev. M. E. Sellers. Interment will be at Whitebead Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
